Our Story

LOCOCO® was founded in Park City, UT, home to athletes who get after it—including Olympians.

As with any ski town, commercial hot chocolate is everywhere in restaurants, shops, and chalets. Usually, it’s loaded with sugar (and not much else), relegated to an occasional indulgence—a treat for kids.

But that shouldn’t need to be the case. Chocolate (made from cacao) is a restorative superfood—full of antioxidants, vitamins, and theobromine, which offers a healthier, more even, feel-good pick-me-up.

There should be a better cocoa, we thought, one that active mountain dwellers like us would drink daily. So we created LOCOCO® cocoa—a delectable, everyday adaptogenic cocoa with less than ⅓ of the sugar found in other popular hot chocolate brands and less than 10% of the caffeine found in coffee.

Recently, we made LOCOCO even better. We’ve refined the formula to increase its potency—every serving now has the equivalent of one full gram of functional mushrooms. And today, even more of our ingredients are organic and sourced from ethical suppliers who share our commitment to caring for the planet and its people.

We’re proud to say LOCOCO® has been recognized by Food & Wine as a top 5 ‘best’ cocoa for its taste and received high marks from the International Chocolate Salon’s Best Hot Chocolate Awards in 5 categories including best richness and most unique. Our cocoa was also selected as a key ingredient for ‘The Dessert Menu,’ an adult hot cocoa served up at 2024 Sundance Film Festival as part of Ketel One x AMC+’s movies cocktail collection.
